Summary 0000993: Add option to rasterize PDF
Revision 2018-10-22 22:03 by rijkr
Description IST: A printed PDF is composed from input PDF document(s).
SOLL: Add an option to Print PDF as an image. This creates a PDF for printing where each page is converted to a JPEG image, with an optional DPI value (e.g. 300 dpi).

"Print PDF as an image" can optionally be used when creating a Job Ticket, or Hold Print job. Pre-processing a PDF as image makes the actual printing process much faster. Also, imaging can solve printing problems when, for example, a PDF file contains damaged content such as images or fonts that cannot be processed during printing. Printing a PDF file as an image bypasses that processing by sending the printer a simple image of the document instead. This process can cause images and fonts to look slightly rougher, especially at the edges. However, you can increase the resolution in dots per inch (dpi) to improve results.
